Dr. Kanai began her teaching career as a substitute teacher. Once in the classroom she really loved seeing the students become excited about learning, it was her “light bulb” moment. She knew at that time that it was her goal to teach others. Teaching is such a rewarding career and she has learn every day along with her students. Dr. Kanai began her career teaching high school mathematics. Computers and technology have always intrigued her.  While other people become frustrated when something on the computer does not work the way they want it to Dr. Kanai…. on the other hand, wants to figure it out as opposed to throwing the computer in the ocean, by the way she lives in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.  Technology is so awesome in 2014.  Being able to communicate with people from all over the world is something that allows the world to be our classroom.  Currently, Dr. Kanai teaches online totally loving her students and teaching! She is married and has three four legged children.  Keli Malia a Pomeranian, Kea Nalu a Havanese, and Loki Lani a Lhasa Apso.  Her husband and her love deep sea fishing on the calm waters of Kona. She is an avid weight lifter who loves orchids.  Life is simple, good, and happy! Education is the key that opens many doors!
